Getting My Lab Ready

For some of the instrument systems that AIR routinely sells, we have provided basic lab preparation information on this site (the links at the left side of this page). This list is incomplete and we are currently in the process of adding to this list. If you don't see what you need, your AIR Representative will be happy to fax or e-mail you the specifics for your instrument order.

Prior to the arrival of your order there are several questions to consider, such as:
What are the power requirements of my new equipment and do I have the necessary power at my location?
How much bench or floor space is required?
What gases, if any, does this instrument use and will I need to purchase regulators for my system?
What consumables will I need at the time of installation (inline gas filters, traps, columns, standards, etc.)?
Are there licenses required for the use of this equipment?
Do I have the necessary skills in-house to run this instrument or will additional training be required?

Obviously, if you are ordering a hot plate or a pH meter the questions and answers are simple but for an ICAP system, all of the above questions are important and additional considerations such as instrument weight and building access become issues.
