What are AIR Familiarization Services?

Our familiarization is intended to deal with the practical aspects of running an instrument. Our purpose is to orient a moderately experienced operator on the specific use, maintenance and performance of an instrument. After familiarization is completed, a operator should be able to perform all of the essential task associated with running an instrument and be able to locate additional resources to learn complex tasks involving chemistry.

Where does familiarization occur?

Usually AIR conducts system familiarizations on-site, at your location, but often we have performed this service at our location in Golden, Colorado. The advantage of doing familiarization in Golden is reduced costs. AIR already has your instrument up and running on the bench and since we avoid travel expenses, the entire familiarization can be done at a significant cost savings

Why don't you call it training instead of familiarization?

AIR is often asked to provide instrument and software "training services". We feel that the word "training" implies a level of sophistication that is beyond what we offer. At AIR, our instrument training is more accurately described as "operator orientation" or "instrument familiarizations".

Will I learn how to run my method during familiarization?

AIR Familiarization Services is not application or method specific. Unless specifically stated in the price quotation, sales agreement or purchase order, AIR does not provide application specific familiarization services. If a client needs method specific services, it is possible that AIR can be of assistance but this issue must be specifically addressed in advance of the sales agreement.
